Ryan Glaze

Ryan Glaze attended the University of Toledo,
where he was member of the baseball team and he was a
Communications
Major. He currently is a student at Owens Community College
where he is seeking an Associate’s Degree in International
Business. He is a graduate of Robert S. Rogers High School,
where he received First Team All-City and All-State honors
as a baseball player.
Coach Glaze has a 17 year coaching career at the high
school level, having coached football, baseball and basketball.
Coach Glaze has also been a basketball official and a
member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association for
the past 18 years.
Currently a coach at McTigue Middle School, Coach Glaze
has tallied a combined record of 38-6 over the past 3
seasons. He has been a top AAU coach for the past 8 years,
boasting a combined record of 222-26 and four AAU National
Championships to his credit (Dallas, Las Vegas, and Chicago).
He is thoroughly committed to developing and mentoring
student athletes in all areas of life.
Christian Battle

Christian
Battle is a 2005 graduate of Toledo Start High
School, where he was a three year varsity starter
in basketball. He also started his coaching career
at his former high school, serving as a boys basketball
varsity assistant, and boys coach. Currently at
Bowsher High School he is the junior varsity boys
basketball, and assistant varsity coach. He has
compiled a record of 30-21 in first 3 seasons
as a head coach.
Coach Battle currently attends The University
of Toledo, where he is pursuing his degree in
education. He believes through his education,
he will be able to mentor youth about life choices.
Coach Battle is dedicated to making Team Toledo
a positive environment to learn the game of basketball
and "Life."
Jimmy King

Jimmy
King is a graduate of Rogers High School where
he played basketball and was all-city in track,
he received a scholarship to attend the University
of Cincinnati where he majored in economics and
finance. He is currently the owner of The Kings
Court, a youth basketball development program,
where he personally trains children of all ages
on the fundamentals of basketball.
Jimmy has been instrumental in the development
of young athletes in Toledo where he started
his coaching at Mt. Vernon Elementary School
and that has continued over the past 20 plus
years; with him coaching, refereeing and working
with youth in several capacities including,
personal shooting coach, AAU basketball and
Big Brother mentor. Jim was awarded a proclamation
from the city of Toledo for his continued dedication
to the overall development of the youth community.
Coach King promotes the attitude of daily dedication
and desire; will create an environment of success
with no boundaries.
Oscar Ellis

Oscar
Ellis is a 1964 graduate of Scott High School
and a graduate of Bowling Green State University.
He was a member of 1st Team All City, received
All State Honors – 2 years, and a member
of the Bowling Green State University Basketball
team.
Coach Ellis was the owner of Ellis & Sons
Landscape. Additionally, he worked on the Management
Team (skilled trade area) at Libbey Glass. After
40 years of service, he joined his wife in early
retirement to enjoy their grandchildren.
Ed Norrils

Eddie
Norrils graduated from Roy C. Start High School
in Toledo, Ohio. He was a three year starter for
the varsity basketball team and a two year starter
for the football team. He captured All-City honors
in football and continued his football career
as a Defiance College Yellow Jacket. While attending
college and receiving his B.S. in Criminal Justice
he was named team captain and was an All-Conference
performer.
Coach Eddie was one of the original founders
of Team Toledo. He has over 15 years of coaching
experience in basketball and football. He has
served as a Player/Coach for the Toledo Pride
Law Enforcement basketball team for over 10
years. He also enjoyed his semi-pro football
career of 10 years. In addition to coaching,
Coach Eddie has been a football official for
12 years and basketball official for 6 years.
He’s continued to be a long standing member
of the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
As a youth basketball coach, Coach Eddie’s
teams have won numerous City League Championships.
His AAU teams have claimed state and national
championships in Dallas, Las Vegas, and 2 in
Orlando. He is so proud of his many players
who have gone on to have stellar high school
and college careers.
Eddie Norrils is a Unit Supervisor in the Probation
Department at Toledo Municipal Court where he
has been employed for 14 years. He is also a
Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDCIII-E). He
is married and has two sons, Cheatham and Jonzell.
He is extremely grateful for the influential
and supportive people he’s met throughout
the years who have contributed to his programs.
Coach Eddie came from a single parent (prayer
filled) home and remembers vividly how he was
blessed with the help from youth coaches. Without
their help he could not have reached his goal.
No one enjoys giving back as much as Coach Eddie.
